Our Junior Toddler room caters for children from 15 months to 2 years. The room is bright, colourful and stimulating, we have a lovely outdoor yard which is utilized daily, weather permitting where we can dig in the sandpit, throw, kick and chase balls, play in the cubby, ride trikes and bikes and much more.
In this age group the children are starting to gain a little more independence and enjoy being more self sufficient. Staff are aware of this stage and provide the children with opportunities and support to be able to achieve these milestones, for example feeding themselves with spoons and forks, putting on their shoes and socks, helping to set the table for meals etc.
We provide lots of experiences to encourage language development; these include stories and songs, flash cards, and social experiences. We have lots of fun in the room listening as the children find their voice. Art is an important part of our room and the children love to explore with different elements to create wonderful pieces of artwork.
